Legacy Village of Tifton Donates $500 to Veterans Memorial Park to Purchase New American Flags

TIFTON, Ga. (June 1, 2016) – Legacy Village of Tifton recently donated $500 to the local Veterans Memorial Park to benefit the purchase of new American flags and flagpoles.

The Veterans Memorial Park in historic downtown Tifton honors our veterans and is a vital landmark in Tifton.

“An article in the Tifton newspaper recently noted that many of the flags were frayed and the merchants were concerned about them. We wanted to help support this effort in downtown because it is so important to the community and to our veterans,” Emily Leffew, Executive Director at Legacy Village of Tifton, said.

“Every day we at Legacy Village of Tifton have the opportunity to serve some amazing veterans. We hear first-hand of the amazing stories and are so thankful for their service. We are thrilled to donate to such a great cause. We made this donation on behalf of our wonderful veterans,” Bryan Cook, Chief Operating Office of Legacy Senior Living, management company of Legacy Village, said.

“They have already purchased 28 new flags and flagpoles and have hung most of them. We are anticipating a trip to take our residents to see them,” Leffew said.
